Giving Women Their Fair Share

Café Femenino Coffee disrupts coffee’s traditional economic system by paying women coffee farmers directly for the coffee they produce. 

Proceeds from the sale of Café Femenino Coffee are paid directly to the women farmers who invest in their farms, communities and families. 

Paying women farmers directly ensures that they get their fair share, which is the fundamental tenet of ethical coffee sourcing. It also gives women the decision-making power, equality and voice they need to empower themselves and guide their own destiny.

Café Femenino Coffee is grown exclusively on women-owned and women-operated farms. Currently, ten co-ops in nine coffee-producing countries, as well as thousands of smallholder farmers, participate in Café Femenino.

To participate, Café Femenino cooperatives must provide their women farmers with access to a host of political and economic benefits, including:

• Legal rights to their farmland
• Leadership positions within their cooperatives
• Financial and decision-making power
• Direct payments for their coffee, including a Café Femenino premium
